During an interview on Fox News, furious Congressman man and House Minority leader Kevin McCarthy called out Nancy Pelosi for stonewalling the coronavirus relief bill over her nasty political games.
According to WashintonPost:
The coronavirus relief bill aims to inject close to $1.8 trillion into businesses and households. The bill would seek to flood the economy with money in an effort to protect millions of jobs and businesses that appear to be on the brink. It would direct payments of $1,200 to most American adults and $500 to children. It would steer $350 billion toward small businesses to stem the tide of layoffs and push billions more toward hospitals and the unemployment insurance system. And it would create a massive $500 billion program for businesses, states and localities.
But sadly, by a vote of 47-47, the Senate’s $1.8 trillion coronavirus relief package faltered before it could even be brought to the floor for an official vote on Sunday. Senate Democrats banded together to prevent Senate leadership from getting cloture to proceed to the bill, which requires 60 votes. Just moments ago, the Senate’s second attempt to get on the bill failed in a 45-46 vote with some senators voting to abstain.
Senate Democrats’ only problem with the bill is the fact that $500 billion has been set aside to be handed out to corporations.
