Dana Boente, a top FBI lawyer who was recently criticised on Fox News for his role in the investigation of Michael Flynn has resigned after being asked to do so by senior figures at the Department of Justice.
From Trending Politics:
Following Friday’s release of recently declassified transcripts of calls between incoming national security advisor General Michael Flynn and the Russian ambassador, the FBI’s top lawyer was sent packing.
In a sign that a long-overdue housecleaning at the FBI may be nearing, the resignation of Dana Boente was requested by high-level officials at the Justice Department bringing an end to his 38-year career.
Boente’s resignation was called for by the DOJ which went over the head of FBI Director Christopher Wray is a sign that the man who replaced the fired and disgraced James Comey could be next in line.
Fox News host Louu Dobbs reported last month that Boente had acted in coordination with Wray to suppress exculpatory evidence against Gen. Flynn, a man who has been disgracefully victimized by a politicized FBI and a weaponized judicial system to keep him quiet.
