Manchester United’s players are getting ready to compete for their respective nations at this summer’s European Championship, which gets under way on Friday night.

United will hope to see Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw and Dean Henderson all involved for England — though Harry Maguire remains in a race to get fit for the tournament, after suffering an ankle injury.

Donny van de Beek will play no part in the Euros, however, after receiving the devastating news that he will be unavailable for the Netherlands because of injury. Dutch boss Frank De Boer said: “It is always sad when boys have to drop out injured.”

On the transfer front, United are trying to clinch deals for Jadon Sancho and Kieran Trippier, while it is expected that Aston Villa’s veteran goalkeeper Tom Heaton will return to Old Trafford this summer. The window opens today.
